Coast Restaurant Turns the Tide for Vancouver Seafood – Grand Opening Next Week!

The wait is finally over: Coast Seafood Restaurant – our Yaletown icon, and longtime Vancouver favourite – is moving into its soaring new space in Downtown Vancouver, and presenting a fresh new menu. The tide is turning. This city’s seafood scene will never be the same.

The New Coast is now open. Call 604 685-5010 for reservations.

The new Coast will be completely reinvigorated – in design, menu, and atmosphere – and intends to become the must-visit seafood restaurant in Vancouver.

The fresh new menu gets back to basics, focusing on only the best quality Vancouver seafood: Oysters with the salty life of the ocean still dripping from their shells. Tender, buttery lobster and Dungeness crab. The most subtle, delicate fresh fish, right from the oceanside. All served with a classic style – and of course, the playful buzz and energy that we’ve all come to expect from the GLOWBAL COLLECTION.

The soaring new space (the largest in the GLOWBAL COLLECTION) gives a respectful nod to the San Francisco seafood icons that inspired Coast. But it is rendered in a breathtaking new Vancouver aesthetic, with deep turquoise tones, mosaic-tiled floors and leather banquettes. Doubling the restaurant’s current capacity, the high energy main floor with a 20-foot circular ‘raw’ bar gives way to the warm and intimate mezzanine featuring a signature ‘boardroom table’ and a private dining space.??Next door to the main room, the sensuous O Lounge will be an alluring, L.A.-style lounge, featuring plush mid-rise sofas and transporting décor: O Lounge is sure to become a must in Vancouver nightlife. It is a perfect complement to nearby COAST.

COAST’s move to a location just up the street from Italian Kitchen is the latest venture from our illustrious founders, Emad Yacoub and Shannon Bosa Yacoub. It fulfils a long-held dream for the Yacoubs: to create, truly, the best, most vibrant seafood restaurant in Vancouver.

Emad is thrilled. So thrilled, in fact, that he couldn’t wait for the Grand Opening to give people a tour of the new space. Take a walk through the new coast with Emad walk through the new Coast (as it was a couple of weeks ago) here.

Our entire team is getting geared up, too. There’s nothing like the electricity in the air before a big opening, and everyone’s been sharpening up their game in the last few days. Take a look at a few candid shots of our culinary team getting ready below.

Chef Wolfe will indulge clients at a 24-seat oyster bar, shucking Atlantic and Pacific Coast oysters and will offer his signature Dungeness crab cakes as well as seafood platters, lobsters, fresh chowders and sushi.

We’re all excited, and we hope you are too. At the new Coast, we wanted to create a restaurant that Vancouver could be as proud of as we are. And we think we’ve done it. After all, Vancouver deserves this place.

See you all soon!
