GLOWBAL RESTAURANT GROUP LAUNCHES GOURMET MEAL DELIVERY PROGRAM TO GIVE BACK TO THOSE IN NEED DURING COVID-19 CRISIS
Vancouver, B.C., March 28, 2020 – In reaction to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, Glowbal Restaurant Group will be firing up its kitchen and supporting a series of local charities in Vancouver by preparing and delivering nourishing homemade meals to communities in need.
The Vancouver-based hospitality group – which comprises 10 restaurant brands including Glowbal, Coast, Italian Kitchen, and Five Sails – will kick off its new charitable meal delivery program on Saturday, March 28; chefs from Glowbal will utilize their culinary skills to safely prepare 200 gourmet meals to be delivered to Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon (RMH BC), an organization that houses 2,000 families each year from across B.C. and the Yukon who must travel to Vancouver in search of life-saving treatment for their children.
Prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, the individually packaged meals include highlights from Glowbal Kitchen’s Pacific Northwest menu, including Spaghetti and Meatballs, Oven Roasted Chicken Thighs with French Onion Style Sauce, Chicken Salad with Herbs and Beef Bourguignonne. All food costs for the community outreach program will be covered by Glowbal Restaurant Group in addition to three corporate donors of whom we cannot thank enough: Colin Bosa (Bosa Properties), Ryan Beedie (Beedie Group) Kevin Li (Access Pacific Enterprises) and Rosano De Cottis (Onni Group).
Glowbal Restaurant Group would like to thank Vancouver Firefighter Charities (VFC) for helping to support the kick-off of this initiative with off-duty firefighters volunteering their time to transport the prepared meals and deliver them to those in need.
“With our restaurant locations temporarily closed, we wanted to take action and help members of our community who are struggling during this incredibly challenging period,” said Emad Yacoub, CEO at Glowbal Restaurant Group. “With the launch of our new meal delivery program, we hope to support a variety of local charities and provide meals to those in need on a regular basis, while also continuing to employ our chefs at Glowbal Restaurant Group.”
“We are very grateful to our friends at Glowbal Restaurant Group and Vancouver Firefighter Charities for their ongoing support of our mission,” said Richard Pass, CEO of Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon. “Now more than ever, we count on our community to support the 45 families currently staying at Ronald McDonald House BC & Yukon. It is truly uplifting to see everyone doing what they can to care for each other during these unprecedented times.”
Next week, Glowbal Restaurant Group will be teaming up with A Loving Spoonful and VFC to deliver 200 chef-prepared meals to people living with HIV and co-existing illnesses in the Metro Vancouver area.
Glowbal Restaurant Group plans to continue the meal delivery program multiple times a week in partnership with a variety of charitable groups in the Vancouver area.
Non-profit organizations and community groups that are interested in a meal delivery donation from Glowbal Restaurant Group in the Vancouver area are encouraged to contact Michelle Lan and Tara Armstrong, PR representatives for Glowbal Restaurant Group, at mlan@michellelanpr.com or tara@taraarmstrong.ca
